I'll Be Speaking at O'Reilly's Web 2.0 Conference
I'm happy to announce that Rael Dornfest from O'Reilly has invited me to speak on a panel at the Web 2.0 conference in October, here's the session info:
The Mobile Platform: The Future of Mobile
Trip Hawkins, Founder & CEO, Digital Chocolate
Russell Beattie, Independent Technical Consultant
Jory Bell, CEO, OQO
Juha Christensen, President, Mobile and Devices, Macromedia, Inc.
Time: 11:00am
Moderated by Rael Dornfest, CTO, O'Reilly Media, Inc. The Web started on the PC, but the mobile web is poised to eclipse the PC as the dominant driver of innovation in the Web 2.0 era. Mobile expert Rael Dornfest discusses the state of the mobile web with innovators from Apple, Digital Chocolate, and a guest to be named shortly.
This is a new session which addresses my complaints a few months ago about how the conference wasn't focused on mobiles enough. This description is perfect, we are truly on the cusp of a major revolution in web-based data when more people use their phones to access the internet than their PCs. It's going to be a great session.
Rael is still finalizing the panel as well - I'm not sure if he's got everyone arranged just yet, but if you're in the mobile web space you should get in touch with him.
