221 Reasons to Buy a Nintendo Revolution
Yes, I know you read the gadget news as well as I do, but this was too sweet not to repeat. Via Kotaku: Cubed3.com has the scoop on 221 games that Nintendo is going to make available for download on their next gen gaming console Revolution:
The latest issue of Famitsu Weekly (#861) reveals a list of 221 Nintendo published titles on the NES, SNES and N64 that will be available for download on the Nintendo Revolution console in Japan. These are basically all the Nintendo published titles on the system.
Click over to see the full list and the screen shots of the magazine (in Japanese) where they got the info from. You cannot possibly believe how this warms my heart. Speaking as someone who was up until 3 a.m. last night playing Super Mario 64 via an emulator on my old Toshiba (using the incredible Logitech Rumblepad 2) this is going to be the killer app of this console, seriously. I hope they price the downloads reasonably... maybe as a subscription service? Downloadable games are key - who the hell wants to deal with discs anymore? I hope they end up opening up their system so that third parties can add their games in as well.
Man, it's going to be a looong wait until mid-2006 when the Revolution is supposed to launch!
