Syndirella Sucks and other RSS problems.
Actually, I don't know if Syndirella sucks or not, but some bozo who's using it is slamming my site hundreds of times an hour. Jesus. 415 times since I rebooted the server this morning. Wonderful .NOT technology at its best.
Could you PLEASE tame your aggregator? Otherwise I'm going to have to go into my logs, find your IP and start blocking it, and that's a pain in the ass.
By the way, I had a bug in my code that I've known about for a while, but never got around to fixing until just now. If I used an "&" in my post title, it would kill the rss.jsp for some random reason because it wasn't escaped (though... it shouldn't matter because I'm not parsing the xml on the server side... weird.) I tried to remember not to use the &, but if you write a story about AT&T, you don't have much choice, do you? And I forgot, which killed my RSS feed for the past 10 hours or so. First my site's down all night yesterday, then my RSS is down all night last night. Urgh. A little growing pains for this weblog.
