You can't shut off a blogger. It's not possible. You can't shut them up, and you can't shout them down. You can try to reason with them, but if that fails there's not much you can do about it, except one thing: You can ignore them.

Here's the steps:

1. You unsubscribe from their feed.
2. You start ignoring their comments left on others blogs.
3. You start ignoring links to them from others blogs as well
4. You completely ignore their existence. You don't talk about them, blog about them, email about them. Nothing. They don't exist any more, like you never learned their URL in the first place.

That's it. That's the *only* way to turn a blogger off.

I'm doing this right now. I've been reading the vicious garbage spewing from one "a-list blogger" for a week now, and I'm sick of it. I'm sick of reading *other* people's garbage about that person as well. Done. No more. Some day I might run into a reference from them and turn them back on, but from right now they don't exist any more for me.

It'd be *wonderful* if you did the same and we could get some peace and quiet for a little while and get some work done.
